Perks Of Sustainable Fashion

Gone are those days, when people who constantly updated their fashion trends were termed cool, stylish, and edgy. Though this seemed to look cool, the process involved was painstaking in terms of spending time as well as loads of hard-earned money on unnecessary pile of apparels which were worn only once or even forgotten for ages.

Well…. we all have to blame this on fast fashion, as the business model is intentionally designed in a way such as, to make people feel like you need to buy new things constantly to look better, as their business relies on constant selling of clothes in the name of trends.

There is nothing wrong in following trends but, is it worth at the cost of time, money and so much mess that is created in our environment? What if there is more productive way which involves less or zero wastage?

Yes… I am referring to slow/sustainable fashion.

Thank god! people have begun to realize the cons of fast fashion & are slowly taking a big turn towards slow/sustainable fashion where, following the Big Magic Mantras of R’s is all they do. Well Yeah, I think you might have guessed it by now, that I am talking about Repeat i.e Repeating the apparels, Recreate which involves reusing the old stuff to create new ones by stitching or adding an embroidery design etc  & Restyle by mixing & matching separates to create new ensemble every day.

Even big celebrities like Kangana Ranaut, Samantha Akkineni and Malaika Arora did not shy away from Repeating & Restyling their outfits on various occasions promoting sustainable/slow fashion. So, why should we lag behind?

In fact, simply following the mantras of R will not only help you save your day as well as your hard-earned money but it will also help you to discover your personal style that reflects you, your lifestyle and aesthetics. And trust me guys, smartness lies in wearing something that suits and makes you feel as well as look good than rather following some trend blindly.

I know…that there is a constant urge to keep up with current trends which is kind of hard to get rid of, as you are daily exposed to movies as well as exciting sales on the social media. In such case, you can look trendy by investing carefully in Timeless pieces that never goes out of style, and then very well Repeat as well as Restyle them to create new outfit every day.

Or else, the best option is to make use of your old clothes and get it stitched imitating the newest trends in fashion and hence giving it an amazing makeover.

I myself, am a strong adherent of sustainable/slow fashion where Restyling and Recreating new outfits from the old one, has mostly been part of my fashion game for which I received great compliments too. This is the very reason that inspired me to pen down my thoughts about my favorite outfit that grabbed attention of many viewers.

Let me tell u guys, that I too have great obsession for designer clothes & I happen to come across one Anarkali outfit on google while browsing, that belonged to The Rohit Bal’s creation which was way too expensive, as you all know. But, I loved that outfit so much & could not resist thinking about it which made me restless. So, I started to look upon reasonable choices & than finally decided to get one stitched in the similar fashion, for which I reused my mum’s old saree that I loved a lot & hated the fact that it was lying in her wardrobe untouched for ages. And now, this outfit is become my biggest souvenir that keeps me reminding about her warmth, love as well as her presence near me. Isn’t it a beautiful way to keep in touch with your loved ones besides a phone or video call. As a married woman one would know, how it feels like. So yes, I am extremely happy to have this in my heart as well as in my closet.

Well, if your looking for some assistance in transforming your old or new clothes to keep up with the current trends or if you are bored of your old stuffs and need some eye catching makeover to make your closet exciting, then you are lucky to have found one.

LOOK 1: Classy Casual Traditional Avatar

This is an amazing outfit, as it gives an classy as well as elegant look effortlessly with no much hustle, when you have very less time to spare for your traditional avatar. What I all did is, I paired my Anarkali kurta with matching black leggings as well as dupatta of another outfit. As it had black lace border, it seemed to team well with my kurta. I specially prefered oxidized jewelry as it’s silver color complemented well with the color of the kurta & my silver strap sandals. Finally, a casual tan colored tote bag gave me right amount of space to accommodate all my essentials for a long day out completing my overall look .

For makeup, I applied a dab of foundation powder over a sunscreen on my face, blush on my cheeks, eyeliner as well as maskara for pretty eyes & a tint of orange lip shade from Maybelline.

This traditional avatar can easily fit in your college look book guide, for exciting outings with your friends or family as well as for pooja ceremonies.

LOOK 2: Classy Formal Traditional Avatar

In order to attain a formal avatar, the major replacements to look 1 were made by opting bright rose pink colored net dupatta, gold ring, fancy pearl chandbalis, potli bag as well as wedges with pretty embroidery work, which completely transformed my girl next door look to vibrant & sophisticated one. I specifically chose this pink net dupatta coz the pink color perfectly coupled with the color of my kurta, as well as matched well with my pretty potli bag, which happen to be my first choice when I am looking to dress for a wedding function. Also, the net material pops an extravaganza, polished as well as lux effect when teamed with any outfit. The fancy pearl chandbalis too synced well with beautiful pearl beads of my dupatta. So it was completely a win win style game for me.

As far as makeup is concerned, I went for bold deep pink lip shade from colorbar that seemed to match with the color of my dupatta & potli bag while the rest kept same.

This classy formal avatar can be an edgy way to pull off wedding functions or any other special occasions coming your way.
